Linda Hoyle’s handmade sculptures and digital prints capture the spirit of the animals we find beautiful and captivating. Such animals have always been traditional subjects in art yet Linda presents them in a unique and contemporary way. Strong, bold colours portray the strength and power of the animal while their semi-abstract structure highlights the fragility inherent in all living things. Linda works from her cottage in the Yorkshire Dales and has sent pieces to buyers and collectors all over the world.
“I build Individually handbuilt unique sculptures using wire, then I add other materials, glues, resins, finally handpainting and varnishing. I work intuitively without using images or sketches. The piece evolves, often demanding its own journey. I strive for emotion, character and spirit within a balance of power and fragility”.
